A Look Back at the Garden Festival and Our First YouTube Video
05.12.2025
Vranov u Brna experienced a unique blend of tradition and openness. The Vranov Spiritual Center successfully launched a new era of public events. The garden festival, held in September, attracted more than a thousand visitors.
As every year, the traditional Vranov Pilgrimage to the Virgin Mary took place this September. On Sunday, September 7, 2025, the traditional pilgrimage site in Vranov u Brna came alive with unprecedented bustle and joy. The first annual Garden Festival and Open House were held at the Vranov Spiritual Center. The event lasted all day.
The traditional fair was welcomed with open arms by the monastery
Pilgrims who attended several Masses throughout the day at the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary also had the opportunity to visit the adjacent Paulist monastery, specifically the Spiritual Center, which opened its doors to the general public on this day for the first time on such a large scale.
The event was also blessed with beautiful weather, which was perfect for sitting back and relaxing. More than 1,000 guests attended the celebration at the Spiritual Center. Pilgrims praised not only the peaceful and spiritual atmosphere of the place, but also the excellent refreshments.
A quiet place to gather one's thoughts, but also a bouncy castle full of children
While the Spiritual Center is usually a place of peace and quiet where one can find inner calm, on this day it was transformed into a lively yet still serene hub of activity.
Bishop Pavel blessed the house and the new projects
The highlight of the morning program was Holy Mass, celebrated at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary by Brno Bishop Pavel Konzbul. His presence and subsequent active participation in the garden festival were a wonderful experience for the visitors.
A very important moment was the ceremonial blessing of the building where the Vranov Spiritual Center operates. Bishop Pavel blessed the Spiritual Center’s new projects—its new logo, brand-new website, and a podcast titled “Spiritual Conversations.” These blessings symbolically marked the beginning of a new era of communication for the Spiritual Center.
A tour of the premises was also included
The open house gave visitors a chance to explore every corner of the Spiritual Center’s extensive grounds. Visitors were able to see not only the expansive parish garden but also areas normally off-limits to the public. This gave them the opportunity to visit the chapel, lecture and conference halls, lodging facilities, the dining hall, and the library.
Visitors thus gained a comprehensive understanding of the scope and capabilities of the center, which serves not only pilgrims but also educational and social purposes.
The event will continue
It has been confirmed that the Vranov Spiritual Center has the potential to host large public events that combine a spiritual dimension with a pleasant, family-friendly atmosphere. It is already certain that the Garden Festival will become a new tradition. The next edition is scheduled for September 2026.
